Hemp Testing Menu

SC Labs can test hemp biomass, concentrates, e-liquids/vape oils, crystallized isolates, as well as liquid and solid infused products such as coconut oils, tinctures, and edibles. Don’t forget about your ingredients! We test beeswax, chocolate, food additives, terpenes, environmental inputs like soil, and more.

Be sure to contact us, if you’re a hemp producer looking to sell your products in cannabis dispensaries. There are certain restrictions you’ll want to know before testing. Looking for cannabis testing? Check out our Cannabis Testing Menu instead.

Quality Assurance Test Packages

While THC concentrations of industrial hemp may have been analyzed at pre-harvest, additional safety and potency testing may be warranted for consumer-ready items. For some states, additional contaminant and safety tests are now required prior to processing and prior to reaching retail shelves.

We offer one of the nation’s most complete test packages for hemp/CBD quality assurance. Bundled panel options were developed to target a comprehensive list of contaminants, address state compliance rules, and meet guidelines established by the USP, AHPA, AHP, AOAC, DCC6, or ORELAP.

Foreign Material Analysis

Our visual analysis includes, but is not limited to, sand, soil, cinders, dirt, mold, hair, insect fragments, and mammalian excreta.

Foreign Material Test Panel

  • Total sample area covered by sand, soil, cinders, or dirt
  • Total sample area covered by mold
  • Total sample area covered by imbedded foreign material
  • Insect fragment count
  • Hair count
  • Mammalian excreta count

Water Activity Analysis

Our water activity analysis determines the ratio of the vapor pressure of water in hemp or hemp products to the vapor pressure of pure water. Water activity measurements are determined from a calculation of relative humidity.

Water Activity Test

Results are displayed in units (WA) from 0 to 1.0.

Moisture Content Analysis

The analysis of moisture content in hemp and hemp products is determined through weight loss on drying. This is calculated based on the difference between the wet sample weight and the dried sample weight.

Moisture Content Test

Results are displayed as a percentage (%).

HLVd and Viroid Analysis

Analysis is conducted by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) this analysis. Learn more.
